Het Horstmannsbos aims to attract people who want to holiday amidst nature and feel relaxed and comfortable in natural surroundings. It is an attractive, tranquil site in the woods near Gasselte. The site has some 180 pitches, of which 100 are for tourers. Arranged on level fields, taking between four and 20 units, there are 15 serviced pitches (water, electricity and drainage). To the rear of the site is a large field without electricity for tent campers, while on the far side is a separate area for mobile homes, and to the right is a bungalow park.

There is an open-air pool (10x5 m) behind reception, with sports facilities. A welcoming bar/restaurant has an open-air terrace for drinks and snacks. From the back of the site, you can walk or cycle into the woodland dunes and moorland of the Drouwenerzand nature reserve. The nearby Het Drouwenerzand theme park is a popular outing.

Several basic toilet blocks are well placed around the site, with toilets, washbasins and free hot showers. Family shower. Baby room. Accessible Facilities. Basic laundry with washing machines, dryers and freezer. Motorhome service point. Bar/restaurant with terrace (high season). Outdoor swimming pool. Boules. Playground. Entertainment team for children (high season). WiFi throughout (charged).

Directions to Camping het Horstmannsbos

On A28, take exit 32 (Assen-Zuid) and continue east on N33. At crossing with N34, turn south towards Emmen. Turn east again towards Gasselte and follow site signs. Site is just outside Gasselte.
