Heidestrand is a large family site of 30 hectares with a broad range of facilities. The site can be found north of Hasselt in the Flemish province of Limburg. There are over 600 seasonal pitches here and around 80 touring pitches, all with electricity and water. In the middle of the park, you will find a large shallow swimming lake with a sandy beach, perfect for those who want to build sand castles, take a cooling dip or enjoy a good book on the beach. This pond has been nominated as the best natural pond in Limburg.

If the lake isn't enough, the outdoor water activities don't stop there. The site also boasts an excellent outdoor swimming pool with a separate paddling pool, water slides and diving pool. There is another pond well stocked with a wide variety of fish for those avid anglers to enjoy.

There is a restaurant on-site with a terrace overlooking the lake where you can relax and enjoy various meals. Various entertainment is held here, including dance evenings, live shows and card games. For those who enjoy cooking on holiday, there is an onsite shop with all the necessary amenities to cook a great meal at your caravan or motorhome.

Hasselt is an attractive town dating back to the 7th century. The centre is car-free and contains some interesting historical buildings, including the 12th-century cathedral of Saint Quentin and the Herkenrode abbey refuge. The Grote Markt is a pleasant square lined with cafes and restaurants. The nature reserve at De Bolderberg is also within easy reach and contains a number of excellent walks.

Directions to Camping Heidestrand

Zonhoven is located 8 km. north of Hasselt close to the N74. From Zonhoven take N72 towards Beringen. After 2 km, just after the railway, turn left to Wijvestraat. The site is 2.5 km. on the right.
