Camping Grande Italia is close to Chiaggia and has 140 pitches, each with access to 4A electricity and water. A beach bar, a small restaurant and a small swimming and paddling pool are on the path to the beach. The site has its own private beach area with sunshades and loungers for campers. Reception is the not the most efficient we have encountered, and we were a little disappointed with the lukewarm reception on arrival. The lively marine town of Chioggia, often referred to as Little Venice because of its canals and architecture, is within walking distance.

The beach areas are busy, but the site is on a peninsula and benefits from an extremely long, soft sand beach and a constant, gentle sea breeze. Its promenade, lined by hotels, stretches for over two kilometres and makes a pleasant evening walk. Venice, famous for its architecture, canals and artworks is 25 km. north of the campsite, ideal for a scenic day trip by boat or car.

Mature shower blocks have some new equipment but would benefit from repainting externally. Accessible facilities, Small shop stocks basics. Beach bar. Small beach restaurant. Multisports on beach. Basic children’s entertainment. Baby club. Themed evenings and parties. Private beach. WiFi area (free).

Directions to Camping Grande Italia

Camping Grande Italia is 25 km. south of Venice in Sottomarina di Chioggia. From main A4 (Turin-Milan-Venice road) take exit for ‘Padova est’ towards Ravenna. On A13 exit towards Rovigo, then Venice SS Romea and finally Chioggia Sottomarina. Follow signs to site.
