Idyllically situated near the beautiful village of Engelberg, surrounded by mountains, 3,500 feet above sea level, this all-year site must be one of the very best in Switzerland. The comprehensive range of facilities would be hard to beat. Nearly half of the site is taken up by static caravans which are grouped together at one side. The touring area is in two parts, there are 68 hardstandings for caravans and motorhomes, 11 are comfortplatze, and 12 are prestigeplatze, but all have electricity. Over the small bridge is a flat meadow for about 70 tents. Reception can be found in the very modern foyer of the Eienwäldli Hotel which also houses the indoor pool, spa complex, excellent shop and café/bar.

The indoor pool has been most imaginatively rebuilt as a Felsenbad spa bath with adventure pool, steam and relaxing grottoes, Kneipp’s cure, children’s pool with water slides, solarium, Finnish sauna and eucalyptus steam bath (charged for) and physiotherapy. Being about 35 km. from Luzern by road and with a rail link, it makes a quiet, peaceful base from which to explore the Vierwaldstattersee region, walk in the mountains or just enjoy the scenery. The area is famous as a winter sports region and summer tourist resort.

Facilities at Camping Eienwäldli

The main toilet block, heated in cool weather, is situated at the rear of the hotel and has free hot water in washbasins (in cabins) and charged for showers (CHF 1.00). A small second toilet and shower block has been added at the top of the site. Accessible sanitary facilities, Washing machines and dryers. Shop. Café/bar. New restaurant. Small lounge with kitchen, TV/DVD and library. Indoor pool complex with spa facilities. Physiotherapy suite. Ski facilities including a drying room. Large refurbished play area with a rafting pool fed by freshwater from the mountain stream. Dog bath. Free shuttle bus. Torches useful. WiFi (charged).

Directions to Camping Eienwäldli

From N2 Gotthard motorway, leave at exit 33 Stans-Sud and follow signs to Engelberg. Turn right at T-junction on edge of town and right again and 1follow signs to ’Wasserfall’ and site.
