Camping Eichenwald is a small rural campsite in the Inn Valley area of the Tirol, 40 km. West of Innsbruck. The site lies on the outskirts of the small village of Stams, less than 3 km. from the A12 motorway. Access to this site is through the village and is a steep climb that can be narrow in places, though most units will be able to negotiate this with care. Your sat nav can be relied upon for final directions.
The site has spectacular views of the Alps; in summer is a great location for exploring the local region or just as an overnight stop. Although the site lies on a hillside, there are around 100 touring pitches set on attractive, level terraces, most with wonderful views over the valley and mountains. In winter, it would make a great base for skiing and enjoying some après-ski in the cosy restaurant/bar.
The site has ample, very modern, clean facilities. Some pitches are open; others are in light woodland, offering more shade. They are neither marked nor numbered, adding to the relaxed ambience of the site. Most have 16A electricity, metered in the winter.
There are wonderful views over the valley and the mountains beyond, making this an ideal site for both summer and winter holidays. In summer there is a small heated swimming pool and sunbathing area, and in the winter there is a bus service to the nearby ski resorts. Kayaks, rafts and ski equipment are available to hire.
There is much to explore in this region, and at the end of a busy day, you can unwind with a drink or a meal in the traditionally styled bistro-bar with the restaurant serving local cuisine.
Stams is a very picturesque village and well worth exploring, and there is now a new well-stocked supermarket at the bottom of the hill.

Leave A12 motorway, exit 113, signed Mötz. South on L235 to join B171 and head east signed Telfs. Shortly take L347 south, follow signs to site.
