Jules Verne was the first person to call this area, in the northern part of the Dordogne, ‘Périgord Vert’. It is a much valued part of the Périgord-Limousin National Park, and its lush, green countryside is crossed by numerous rivers, forested hills, valleys and grassland. Le Petit Lion des Toubières is a small, intimate site with 30 pitches (100-150 sq.m) spread over three hectares; all have 6A electricity (long leads may be required on some) and are enclosed by trees and hedges. They offer a mixture of sun and shade. Rental accommodation comprises five chalets and three gîtes.
The owners of Le Petit Lion, Nolwenn and Sylvain, speak very little English but they will certainly make you feel very welcome to their attractive site, which lies in one of the less visited regions of the Dordogne.

One small, rather tired toilet block provides showers and washbasins in cubicles. Accessible facilities. Bar, restaurant and takeaway (July/Aug). Outdoor swimming pool. Children’s pool. Short tennis. Volleyball. Badminton. Table tennis, Boules. Pool table. Football pitch. Fishing. Darts. Communal barbecue. WiFi (free).
Directions to Camping du Petit Lion des Toubières
From Angoulême, take D939 southbound. Turn right on D23 to Villebois-Lavelette. Then join D17 south to Guerat. At end of village turn left onto D81. After crossing three small bridges, at camping sign, turn right onto C1.
