Whether en route to or from the channel ports, or wishing to spend time visiting the World War One cemeteries, this site offers cheap, spacious pitches and modern clean sanitary facilities. From the security gate and reception area, this terraced site is laid out in avenues shaded by mature trees and shrubs. The ten touring pitches are level, some separated by hedging, with water, drainage and electricity connections (10A). They sit alongside the remaining 98 pitches occupied by mobile homes to rent. The warden is helpful and escorts you to your pitch; care is needed for larger units negotiating sharp bends and a steep descent if sited at the lower level. One-way traffic operates.

Mont-Noir, which straddles the France/Belgium border, enjoys an elevated, rural situation approximately 40 km. southeast of Dunkirk and 25 km. northwest of Lille. Entry to the site is on the brow of a hill, but not difficult.

Facilities at Camping du Mont-Noir

A central toilet block is reasonably equipped and of a modern design, clean and attractively sited on a high level approached by paved walkway and tiled forecourt. Facilities include washbasins in private cabins for ladies. On a lower level another block of older construction. Laundry facilities. Bar and café (Saturdays only). Games room. Baker calls each morning. WiFi (free).

Directions to Camping du Mont-Noir

Leave A25 Lille-Dunkerque autoroute at Bailleul (exit 10) on D10. Continue through Bailleul and follow site signs to St Jans-Cappel. Go through village and turn right at crossroads to Mont-Noir. Site is on right at top of hill opposite restaurant.
