This is a pleasant little site conveniently located close to Futuroscope, the remarkable theme park devoted to the moving image, and to the historic town of Poitiers. It is particularly popular as a stop-over on journeys along the A10 and N10. There are 56 large grassy touring pitches, marked by bushes, on flat land with a scattering of mature trees; all have electricity (6/10A Europlug) although long cables may be required in places. There are also 14 mobile homes and a roulotte to rent. There is a warm welcome from the owners.

Facilities at Camping du Futur

The 2 toilet blocks blocks are in a traditional style, open at each end. Well maintained and kept very clean with pushbutton showers and some washbasins in cubicles. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Chemical toilet point. Small shop for basics (bread can be ordered). Bar (June-Sept) serving continental breakfasts. Heated swimming pool (June-Sept). Play area. Trampoline. Minigolf. TV, pool and electronic games in room next to bar. WiFi throughout (charged). Twin axle caravans & American motorhomes accepted. Security barrier (deposit for key)

Directions to Camping du Futur

Avanton is 12 km. north of Poitiers. Follow signs for Martigny and Avanton. From Poitiers and south on N10, take N147 Angers road, bear right through Migné-Auxence, then turn right on D757 to Avanton. From north on N10 turn right north of Jaunay-Clan towards Neuville on new road to join D62; in 3 km, turn south on D757 to Avanton. Site is signed.
