This is an inexpensive country site which was once a municipal site and is now privately owned. It is attractively situated on the edge of the town, only 3 km. from the autoroute, giving easy access to Angers, Nantes and Cholet. The River Louet runs alongside and is fenced for safety. In summer, it is said to be safe for swimming. There are 100 pitches separated by hedges and trees, 93 for touring, all with 6A electricity. There is a choice of shady or sunny pitches. This is a good area for walking and cycling.

Facilities at Camping des Varennes

One basic, clean and well maintained sanitary block with accessible facilities. Swimming lake with slides. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Restaurant, Bar, Pizzeria take away food, Small shop, Entertainment during high season, Table tennis table, Multi sports pitch, Kayaking, Archery, Play area. Boules. Fishing. Torches advised. No electric barbecues. WiFi on part of site (free).

Directions to Camping des Varennes

From Angers take A70 south. Take first interchange after the river and head west into Mûrs-Erigné. Follow D751, then N160, Route de Cholet. At traffic lights turn west, D751, Route de Nantes. In 1.5 km. turn right (signed Municipal Stade and camping). Site is 800 m.
