De Kuilart is a well run, modern and partly car-free site by Friesland’s largest lake. With its own marina and many facilities, it attracts many watersports enthusiasts. There are around 543 pitches, 310 for touring units, all with electricity (6/16A), water, drainage, WiFi and TV connections, and 34 pitches with private sanitary facilities. The restaurant provides beautiful views over Lake Fluessen. The marina provides windsurfing and sailing lessons and boat hire, and there are special rates at the site for groups and sailing clubs. However, the site also has an excellent indoor swimming pool, as well as an area for lake swimming and on land, there are sports facilities and woods for cycling and walking. It may also, therefore, appeal for a relaxing break in a pleasant area not much visited by British campers.

Four modern, heated sanitary blocks well spaced around the site with showers on payment and most washbasins (half in private cabins) have only cold water. Launderette. Motorhome services. Gas supplies. Restaurant/bar, supermarket, indoor pool with 3 sessions daily (all open 30/3-4/11). Sauna and solarium. Sports field. Play areas. Tennis. Bicycle hire. Fishing. Directions to Camping De Kuilart

Site is southeast of Koudum, on the Fluessen lake. Follow the camping sign off the N359 Bolsward-Lemmer road.
