Kempenheuvel is located around 2 km. from the bustling Limburg town of Bree (with an excellent Friday morning market). This is a friendly, family site with a heated outdoor swimming pool and a children’s pool. It is a popular choice with anglers, thanks to a large well stocked carp pond. Other amenities include a tennis court and a boules pitch. Cycling is popular and Kempenheuvel is linked to the Limburg cycling route network. Pitches are of a good size and are supplied with 6A electricity. Plenty of activities are on offer in peak season, including darts tournaments and line dancing.
Bree has a good range of facilities including a large indoor pool and an interesting motor museum. A little further afield, in Erperheide, there is an excellent sub-tropical pool complex (5 km). Hasselt, the capital of the province of Limburg merits a visit. The city centre is mainly car free and has a number of significant buildings, notably the 11th-century Saint Quentin’s cathedral, and the bustling Grote Markt.
