This attractive and well laid out site is located in the quiet, unspoilt countryside close to a reservoir near the small town of Idanha-a-Nova. The site has spacious, unmarked pitches on wide grassy terraces and electricity (16A) is included in the price.

Amenities include tennis courts with stadium-style spectator seating and a medium-sized swimming pool with a paddling pool, together with several playgrounds. A good supermarket, restaurant, bar and terrace complex is located centrally on site but these are only open in the high season.

In low season there are few visitors on the site and cleaning and services can be variable. English was spoken when we visited.

Facilities at Camping de Idanha-a-Nova

Four large toilet blocks, built in the traditional Portuguese style, provide quality installations with some washbasins in private cabins, hot showers with dividers, foot baths and accessible facilities. Laundry. Supermarket (Start July-End Sept). Café and bar (Start June- End Sept). Restaurant (Start July-Mid Sept). Swimming pool. Tennis. TV room. Vending machines. Medical post. Car wash.

Directions to Camping de Idanha-a-Nova

Using the N240, turn off at Ladoeiro onto the N354 (32 km. east of Castelo Branco) and follow signs to Idanha. After 16 km. follow signs for ‘Campismo’. Do not turn towards Idanha-a-Nova or approach via this town.
