Located in the countryside area of Markelo, this site provides 80 spacious touring pitches and 135 seasonal places. Some pitches are on level grass fields, others are in a wooded area of the campsite. All have 6A electricity connections, water and drainage. The site is open rather than shady. The grass on the pitches had been cut, although other areas would have benefited from attention. The principal amenities are open from May to September.

The rabbits that wander all over the site contribute to the natural feel of the site, although there is some road noise in the area. There are lots of things to do such as cycling, walking and horse riding through the various wildlife areas. A choice of museums, restaurants and shops can be found in the neighbouring villages and towns.

Facilities at Camping De Borkeld

One new modern toilet block and one renovated, though looking a little dated. Facilities include separate toilets, showers and washbasins. Hot water for showers and dishwashing on payment. Facilities for babies, families and accessible facilities. Launderette. Outdoor swimming pool (May-Sept). Café (high season). Games room. Play field. Play area. Entertainment for children and adults (July/Aug). WiFi over site (charged).

From the A1 (direction Enschede) take exit for Holten-Oost. Turn right and continue to roundabout. Turn left, then take first right to site on the left.
