On the northern outskirts of Copenhagen, this unique site is within the walls of an old fort, which still retains its main armament of twelve 29 cm. Howitzers (disabled, of course). There are 65 pitches on grass, all with 10A electricity. The apparent limitation on the space available means that pitches are relatively close together, but many are quite deep. The site is very popular and is usually full every night, so a reservation is necessary. The campsite is only 6 km. from the centre of Copenhagen, with a regular bus service from just outside the site. Alternatively, you could use the excellent cycle network to visit the city. The fort was constructed during 1886-1887 and was an integral link in the Copenhagen fortifications until 1932. A restaurant in the fort (under separate management) has excellent sea views to Sweden and the spectacular Øresund bridge.
