This small site is directly beside Lake Bodensee in the town’s parkland. The site has some shade and a few of the touring pitches are by the water’s edge. A large, adjoining lawned field is used for tents and sports and also leads to the playground and paddling pool. There are many static caravans with room for 120 touring units. Pitches are on a mixture of gravel and grass, on flat areas on either side of access roads, most with 6/10A electricity. Cars may have to be parked elsewhere. A railway runs directly along one side. A single set of buildings provide all the site’s amenities. There is access for boats from the campsite, but powered craft must be under a certain h.p. There are splendid views across this large, inland sea and interesting boats ply up and down between Constance and Lindau and Bregenz. The town’s swimming lido adjoins the tent field and is free to campers. This is a beautiful area and the site is well placed for touring around Lake Bodensee. The weather can be unsettled in this region.

Sanitary facilities are clean and modern, and should just about suffice in high season. Accessible sanitary facilities, Washing machine, dryer and drying area. Fridge and freezer for ice packs. Shop (basic supplies, drinks and snacks all season). General room with TV. Playground and paddling pool. Slipway and steps to lake. Communal barbecue pit. WiFi throughout (charged). Dogs are not accepted.

Directions to Camping Buchhorn

On Arbon-Konstanz road 13. From Arbon, turn right at Aldi supermarket. From A1 take Arbon West exit and head towards town. Join the 13 and turn left at Aldi supermarket. Turn left again and head towards warehouses. Turn right, cross the railway line and follow lane to site.
