Brione is a municipal site situated on the edge of the small town of Riva at the head of Lake Garda. It is about 500 m. from the town centre and lakeside. There are 110 level pitches, 78 with 6A electricity and trees provide some shade. Some also have water and a waste water point. Terraces on the hillside take 21 tents. There are 39 mobile homes to rent, two equipped with accessible facilities. The site is neat and well tended with spectacular views of the mountains from all pitches. Riva is recognised as one of Europe’s windsurfing Meccas due to a combination of strong winds with flat water. The nearby town has many good restaurants.

The town shelters under a rocky escarpment and from ancient times has been an important communication and trading centre on the route between Verona and the Alps. Although it lacks the sophistication of the southern end of the lake, today it is a picturesque tourist resort. Because of its windsurfing reputation, this end of the lake tends to attract fewer families and larger numbers of energetic young people (and those young at heart), so there is a vibrant feel to the resort which continues into the evenings.

Two refurbished sanitary blocks, one at either end of the site, have mixed squat and British style WCs, washbasins in cabins, and accessible facilities. New baby/children’s room. 8 private en-suite shower rooms for hire. Motorhome services. Shop for basics (1/4-15/10). Bar/breakfast room with buffet breakfast. Good sized swimming pool (15/6-15/9). Minigolf. TV/video. Bicycle hire. Two play areas. WiFi throughout (charged).

Directions to Camping Brione

Site is on the northeast tip of Lake Garda. From A22 Brenner-Modena motorway, leave at Roverto Sud exit for Lake Garda north, and take SS240 for Nago, Torbole and Riva del Garda. Just before Riva, go through two short tunnels, then immediately turn right at site signs.
