Alan Rogers Review of Camping Belvédère
Le Belvédère is a lovely traditional campsite, as its name implies, situated above Lake Annecy with far-reaching views of the lake and mountains beyond. Tall pines and a steep hillside to the west provide a backdrop to the site, and various trees offer some shade. There are 107 good-sized pitches, 90 of which are for touring units and tents (rock pegs essential), all with electricity (16A) and water. One small area is reserved for groups. And Twelve fully equipped chalets are available to rent. Space may be limited if the site is busy. This site is ideally placed for visiting Annecy but unsuitable for large units.
On-site, you will find a modern reception, clean, sanitary facilities, and a games room with a tv, and during the summer, food trucks visit most evenings for those that don't want to cook. There are walking trails with direct access to the nearby forest, where you will find great trails for all ages and abilities.
Annecy can be reached in 15 minutes on foot which is a very interesting town in a beautiful setting at the head of the lake of the same name. There is a steep clomb back to site so it is easier to take the bus that regually stops outside the site entrance. The old centre has historical interest and is intersected by flower decked canals with many restaurants and shops to visit. There is much to see and do in this region in both summer and winter, with Geneva, Chamonix and the high Alps close by.

Three modern and clean toilet blocks, one heated in cold weather, with accessible bathroom. Laundry facilities. Small shop, bar and takeaway (June-Aug). Games/wet weather room. Playground. Bicycle hire nearby. Table tennis, Communal area for barbecues. Sporting activities arranged. Bus to Annecy in July/Aug. Free WiFi near reception.

Leave A41, Annecy Sud, take N508 to Annecy. After some traffic lights descend a hill looking for ‘H’ and ‘Silence’ signs. Turn right up hill, signed Le Semnoz. Fork right, then turn left, signed Camping, site shortly on right. (GPS will take you beyond the site gate to an old entrance - turn in when you see the first entrance sign)
