Alan Rogers Review of Camping Beldoire
Situated in the wonderful Gorges du Tarn and enjoying spectacular views, Beldoire is arranged in two sections on either side of the road. There are 142 average sized, stony pitches (with 118 for touring), all with 6A electricity and most having shade. Rock pegs are essential. The flatter section next to the river (101 pitches) takes all units. All the amenities are in the steeply terraced, upper section on the other side of the busy road. The 41 pitches here have 24 mobile homes and tents to rent, the remainder being used for group camping in July and August.
The site is used mainly by climbers and canoeists as it is located at the centre of most of the outdoor activities for the area. The staff will be pleased to advise on the many possibilities. A pleasant 800 m. river walk takes you to the village of Les Vignes with its café, restaurant, small supermarket, canoe hire and punting trips. There are several picturesque villages to be discovered along the gorge, particularly Ste Enimie, classed as one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Facilities at Camping Beldoire
Four basic toilet blocks, two in each section, have the necessary facilities. The steepness of the roads means that this site is not suitable for those with walking difficulties. Well stocked shop. Bar/restaurant and takeaway (20/6-30/8). Heated swimming pool (all season). TV/games room. Play area. Fishing and bathing in river. Canoe rental. Activities for young children and occasional evening entertainment (July/Aug). Small animal farm. WiFi (free near reception). Communal barbecue.
Directions to Camping Beldoire
Leave A75 at exit 44 and go south on N9 to Aquessac (14 km). Turn left on D907, signed Gorges du Tarn for 25 km. and site entrance is 1 km. past the village of les Vignes.
