Located on the edge of the Pyrenees, this quiet site is well away from the tourist bustle, particularly in the early or late season. Set in a rural location yet close to the town, its excellent position is ideal for exploring the region and offers a peaceful haven for those wishing to stay in quiet surroundings.
The shady grass pitches are attractive and of a good size with hedges. They offer both water and electricity (10A). The welcoming reception (limited English spoken) sells local produce and organic food. The heated swimming and paddling pool area is overlooked by a small sun terrace with a café/bar.
The site is situated in good cycling countryside and has an unusual Aire de Vélo, for cleaning and maintenance of bicycles. There are 32 cycle (or walking) trails, making this is a useful facility for keen cyclists. Many of the trails have good views of the Pyrenees which can be reached in just half an hour by car. The area also offers many opportunities for rock climbing, fishing and fast water sports. In order to maintain the tranquillity of the site, low key entertainment is provided for children only.

Two sanitary blocks, one old and one modern offer clean facilities with unisex toilets and showers. Accessible Facilities. Laundry facilities. Small shop selling organic food. Café/bar with hot and cold meals. Swimming and paddling pools (heated July/Aug). Sauna and spa pool. Communal room with TV, games, library and drinks. Boules. Small play area with sandpit. WiFi (charged).
Directions to Camping Barétous-Pyrénées
From Oloron-Ste Marie, head southwest on D919 to Aramits. Pass through village bear right, cross river and immediately turn right at campsite sign.
