This well run site is within easy reach of the pleasant town of Füssen and the famous castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, and the extravagantly baroque Wieskirch (Church in the meadow) is 32 km. away. Situated on the edge of the lake, it has a beach, and a jetty at which pedaloes and rowing boats can be hired. The site is level, with 500 touring pitches. Those for caravans and motorhomes are on grass or hardstanding, of good size, marked and numbered. All are close to electrical points (10/16A), and 140 of them have electricity, water supply and drain.

There is a separate grassed area for tents. In July and August there is a marquee for films, dances, music and other organised activities, and a club for young children. During this period, a travel agent is on site for those who wish to book excursions.

Facilities at Camping Bannwaldsee

Three clean, well maintained sanitary blocks (two older style, partly refurbished), with some washbasins in cabins. Showers are free (may be under pressure in high season). Accessible Facilities. Baby room and section for children. Very good laundry facilities. Cooking rings (charged). Motorhome services. Restaurant (with bar, pizzeria, snacks, takeaway) and well stocked shop, both all year. Bicycle and pedal car hire. Games and TV room. Massage. Lake fishing. Church service on Sundays in high season. WiFi.

Directions to Camping Bannwaldsee

From Füssen, take B17 road northeast towards Schwangau, Schongau, Landsberg and Augsburg. Site is signed from Schwangau, and is to the left of the road, 3 km. further on.
