Alan Rogers Review of Camping Aramis
Aramis is a pretty, family campsite located 10 km. east of Auch, just off the N124. There are 65 large pitches with those for touring units positioned at the lower end of the site near the lake. They are mostly well shaded and have 6/10A electricity connections. A number of mobile homes, chalets and tents are available for rent. A swimming pool complex includes a heated, covered pool (open all season) and a larger pool with a shallow area for young children and a long water slide. Activities take place around the site’s convivial bar, particularly during peak season. These include themed, communal meals three times a week, a Monday evening mini-market with local farm produce and evening entertainment.
Other activities include visits to a local farm, accompanied walks through the rolling countryside and a club for children. At the bottom of the site is a large lake for fishing. Auch, the former capital of Gascony, is well worth a visit. It has a very long history dating back to Roman times. The cathedral of Sainte Marie is superb with some fine Renaissance stained glass. Possibly Auch’s best known sight, however, is its statue of d’Artagnan, imposingly sited on a monumental staircase. The River Gers flows through the town and there are some fine walks along its banks. Toulouse is only 65 km. away with the Space and Airbus industry centres to explore, as well as the old historic part of the city.

Fresh bread and pastries can be ordered (July/Aug). Swimming pools. Tennis. Boules. Minigolf. Play area. Entertainment and activity programme (July/Aug). Mobile homes for rent. WiFi throughout (charged).
