This shaded woodland site is ideally situated for visits to Rocamadour and Padirac, as well as exploring the Dordogne region, including the medieval town of Sarlat, only 7 km. away. The site, lively in high season, is divided into two sections, separated by a small access road. There are 179 uneven, grassy pitches with just 31 for touring. They are scattered among the static units, and some of the smaller ones are difficult to access, so only suitable for tents. Many have shade from the numerous trees and all have electricity (6/10A). Access on site is difficult for caravans and large motorhomes.

A wide range of organised activities, children’s clubs and entertainment run throughout the season, making this site popular with families, especially those with pre-teen and younger children. There is a restaurant, takeaway and bar and these are open all season. The site’s swimming pool complex includes a paddling pool for younger visitors and both pools are heated between June and September. There are many picturesque hilltop villages nearby including Beynac, Domme and La Roque Gageac.

Each part of the site has a modern toilet block, with facilities for babies accessible facilities, Bar, restaurant and takeaway with terrace. Good shop. Heated swimming pool (pool open all season, heated 1/6-13/9) plus children’s pool. Small fishing lake. Minigolf. Half tennis. Play area for under 7s. Floodlit boules pitch and multisports court. Bicycle hire. WiFi over site (charged).

Directions to Camping Aqua Viva

Site is 6 km. southeast of Sarlat. Take D704 then fork left on D740A towards Souillac for 3 km. Turn right to site (signed).
