Berga Resort - This is unique because it resembles a 5* hotel more than a campsite. Although the site is one of the largest I have visited, with 621 emplacements with various accommodation options, there are just 30 serviced touring pitches, so booking is essential; most of these are on artificial grass or hard standing due to water restrictions in the area.
The touring pitches are level but quite close together and in rows along a steep hillside mixed with many long-season pitches, mobile homes, and bungalows in another section of this site. The whole area is clean, well maintained, and sanitary facilities are modern and clean.
As I entered the reception, I thought I was entering a luxury hotel. As I was shown around the complex, that is precisely how it felt three pools, one indoors and two outdoors, one with water slides and the other for adults to relax by, a luxury spa, gym, coffee shops, restaurants, cinema, sports halls offering access to most indoor sports and outdoor sports area with football, basketball, table tennis and three kid’s zones, these facilities are shared with members of the leisure club as in most hotels.
The site has been in the same family since inception and has developed from just a field with a few tents to what it is today, a credit to the Baronial family; located close to the local town and ideal for touring the Pyrenees this makes for a great holiday location any time of the year. However, the views down the valley are spectacular should you want to relax by the pool or in the Spanish sunshine.
For a full selection of restaurants, bars and shops, the city of Berga is under three kilometres away.
