Bratislava undoubtedly has charm, being on the Danube and having a number of interesting buildings and churches in its centre. However, industry around the city, particularly en route to the site from the south, presents an ugly picture and gives no hints of the hidden charms. Zlaté Piesky (golden sands) is part of a large, lakeside sports complex which is also used during the day in summer by local residents. The site is on the northeast edge of the city with 200 touring pitches, 160 with 10A electrical connections, on level grass under tall trees. For a night stop or a short stay, this might suit.

Twenty well equipped and many more simple bungalows for hire are spread around the site. An attractive lakeside recreation area has pedaloes for hire and a fitness area in the park, plus water-skiing where you are propelled by something akin to a ski lift.

Facilities at Autocamping Zlaté Piesky

Four toilet blocks, two for campers and two for day visitors, are good and clean. Two restaurants, one with waiter service, the other self service. Many small snack bars. Shops. Lake for swimming and watersports with large beach area. Water slides, Minigolf. Play areas. Table Tennis, Fishing, Water skiing, Room with billiards and electronic games. Disco.

Directions to Autocamping Zlaté Piesky

From E75 Bratislava-Trencin motorway exit towards Zlaté Piesky just north of the airport. Head towards Bratislava on the 61/E571 and immediately after the footbridge turn left at the traffic lights. The site is a little way ahead on the left.
