Sommarvik Camping (also known as Årjäng Camping & Stugor) is in beautiful surroundings with some of the 350 pitches overlooking the clear waters of the Västra Silen lake in peaceful countryside. The 350 numbered pitches are arranged in terraces on a hillside interspersed with pines and birches, with 200 set aside for touring, all with 10A electricity hook-ups; 40 also include water and drainage.

A large restaurant offers a full range of meals, soft drinks, beers, wines and takeaway meals. Close to reception, a heated swimming pool with a paddling pool, terraces and sun loungers has fine views down to the lake. The pool and most activities on-site attract daily charges. The lake with its sandy beach is popular and safe for children.

The site also has a number of chalets (stugor in Swedish) available to rent. This site makes an ideal base to explore this scenic region in summer or in winter when skiing is an additional attraction.

There are plenty of activities available, including canoeing, rowing boats, windsurfing, fishing, attractive water featured mini golf, sauna, quizzes, children’s activities and sightseeing trips. It is possible to ride trolleys around the area on disused railway tracks or slip into nearby Norway and visit Oslo.

Facilities at Årjäng Camping & Stugor

Five sanitary units provide shower cubicles (hot showers on payment), washbasins, toilets, family bathrooms, Accessible facilities and baby changing. All are clean and acceptable but may be stretched in high season. Campers kitchens. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. All activities and amenities are open seasonally. Small shop. Bar, restaurant and takeaway (15/6-15/8). Heated outdoor swimming and paddling pools. Good play areas (one with a pirate ship). Bicycle hire. Internet access. ‘Quick stop’ pitches for overnight stays. Youth hostel and conference centre. WiFi (charged).
