Austria, Vorarlberg, Nenzing
Alan Rogers Review
Only a short drive from the A14 autobahn, Alpencamping is a well-run and comfortable, all-year-round site set in a natural bowl with splendid mountain views. All 150-level pitches are for touring with 16A electricity; all have fresh, wastewater, and TV connections. Most are set on neat terraces.
At the centre of the site are two restaurant options – traditional Austrian cuisine and a fish and steak option - built in a traditional wooden style with lots of atmosphere, its tables are lit by lamps hanging on metre-long ropes attached to beams in the massive wooden roof. With its bar and terrace, the restaurant understandably attracts many local customers and can be quite busy at weekends. A member of the Leading Campings group.
For a truly unforgettable day out, and with pick-up directly from the campsite by a shuttle service, book a trip to the nearby Nenzinger Himmel. This wonderful alpine natural parc offers the best of Austria's alpine world: A waterfall, a mountain lake, an alpine dairy with cheese tasting and many kilometres of hiking trails for the whole family. On-site, during the summer season there are entertainment programmes for children and also for adults during the winter skiing months.
The newer facilities are state of the art and contain 20 private bathrooms (some free, others for rent). Excellent washroom for children and a baby room. There are plans to renew the older sanitary house in winter 22/23, which will reopen in February 23 as an “Earth sanitary building”. Accessible sanitary facilities. Motorhome services. Small shop. Bar. Restaurant with terrace. New heated indoor and outdoor swimming complex (all year) and a bathing lake for adults only. Small play area with another larger one on the top terrace. Kids playhouse and indoor climbing wall with kids cinema. A wellness area on two floors with 6 saunas, infrared cabins and 2 relaxation rooms and massage. WiFi all site (charged).
Site is 15 km. southeast of Feldkirk. From the E60, A12/14 Bregenz-Innsbruck motorway take exit 50 for Nenzing (green camping sign) on B190 road and then follow small green camping signs which have the site’s butterfly logo.Link to campsite location map on google
