You'll receive a very warm welcome from the site managers Tim & Kristy, who took over in 2020. This is no longer a small rural site, but a vibrant modern campsite, yet where you can still take a picnic into the meadow. The reception area also serves as a well-stocked shop/cafe (with a 5-star hygiene rating). It has an extensive menu of freshly prepared food and is the hub of the site, with tables both inside and outside. There is a modern children’s play area and games room within this complex, so you can enjoy your Cappuccino, whilst keeping an eye on the family. At the centre of ‘Acorn’ is an old Oak tree, hence its name, and from this centre, the site divided’s into its specific areas.
There is a sheltered area for Tents, each pitch is large, separated by hedging which offers privacy and shade, electricity is available if requested. You then move through to the Touring park which is open plan and spaciously, with designated ample size grass pitches, hardstanding pitches are also available. The Mobile home park has one lodge, which may be hired for a minimum two-night stay and this accommodates four people. The next area has six Shepherds Huts these are very clean and furnished to a high standard and can accommodate two adults, each has individual outdoor space and seating (and are near to the facilities block). Beyond this is a meadow that can be used for picnics and addition camping, including rallies. (There is no electricity in this area). Good location from which to visit the Vale of Glamorgan, Brecon Beacons, Gower Peninsular, Barry Island and Cardiff.
