Camping Nature Parc l’Ardéchois is a very high-quality, family-run site within walking distance of the amenities of Vallon-Pont-d’Arc. It borders the River Ardèche, and hugely popular canoe trips are run directly from the site. The campsite is just 4 km from the famous Pont-d’Arc, a huge limestone arch spanning the river, and its river beach. A drive along the gorge is a must, with spectacular viewpoints.
In the Bay of Roses, south of Empuriabrava and beside the Parc Natural dels Aiguamolls de l’Empordà, this is a high quality site of particular interest to nature lovers (especially birdwatchers) and families. A large site, there are 1,110 well kept, large, numbered pitches, all with electricity and on flat, sandy ground. Beautifully laid out, it is arranged around the river and waterways, so will suit those who like to be close to water or who enjoy watersports and boating. It is also a superb beachside site, and there is also accommodation for rental.
Considered by many to be the best family campsite in Switzerland, Campofelice Camping Village borders Lake Maggiore and the Verzasca estuary, where the site has its own marina. There are 712 generously sized touring pitches on flat grass on either side of hard access roads. Mostly well-shaded, all pitches have electricity connections (13A, 360 Europlug), and 376 also have water, drainage and TV connections. A particular area is reserved for small tents. Pitches near the lake cost more (these are not available for motorhomes until September).
Brienz, in the Bernese Oberland, is a delightful little town on the lake of the same name and the centre of the Swiss wood carving industry. Camping Aaregg is an excellent site of the highest quality, situated at the eastern end of the lake with breathtaking views across the water to the surrounding mountains.
La Ballena Alegre is a spacious site with almost 2 km. of frontage directly onto an excellent beach of soft golden sand (which is cleaned daily). They claim that none of the 846 touring pitches is more than 100 m. from the beach. The grass pitches are individually numbered, separated by hedges and there is a choice of size (up to 120 sq.m). Electrical connections (10A) are available to all and there are 670 fully serviced pitches. There are several bungalow areas within the site with their own small pools and play areas, and some have shared jacuzzis. This is a great site for families.
Camping Benisol is a well developed and peaceful site with lush, green vegetation and a mountain backdrop. Mature hedges and trees afford privacy to each pitch and some artificial shade is provided where necessary. There are 270 pitches of which around 90 are for touring units (60-80 sq.m). All have electricity hook-ups (10A) and 75 have drainage. All the connecting roads are now surfaced with tarmac. Some daytime road noise should be expected. The site has an excellent restaurant serving traditional Spanish food at great prices, with a pretty, shaded terrace overlooking the pool with its palms and thatched pool bar.
Camping Resort Riegersburg is a campsite located in Riegersburg, Austria. It is between a bathing lake and the Riegersburg Castle, offering a unique vacation experience combining nature and history. Camping Resort Riegersburg is an excellent option for campers looking for a family-friendly campsite. On-site, there are 120 touring pitches with electrical hook-up points available, which are laid neatly on flat ground which are delimited by newly planted hedging. Established in 2024, the campsite has all the essential facilities for a comfortable stay. There’s a children's play area, a communal lounge with a kitchen area ( hobs and a fridge), seating, and a TV. Plenty of leisure activities are available at the recreational swimming lake, which is located just across the rose from the campsite.
This is an extensive site set by an attractive weir near the town of Mendigorria alongside the River Arga. It takes its name from an old water mill close by. It features a sophisticated dock and boat launching facility and an ambitious watersports competition programme in the season with a safety boat present at all times. A Roman aqueduct (4km) is well worth a visit, perhaps by bike. July is very busy due to the bull running festival in Pamplona (28 km).
What an amazing experience awaits you at Seiser Alm! Elisabeth and Erhard Mahlknecht have created a superb site in the magnificent Südtirol region of the Dolomite mountains. Towering peaks provide a wonderful backdrop when you dine in the charming, traditionally styled restaurant on the upper terrace. Here you will also find the bar, shop and reception. The 150 touring pitches have 16A electricity, gas, water, drainage, satellite connection and WiFi. Guests were delighted with the site when we visited, many coming to walk or cycle, some just to enjoy the surroundings. There are countless things to see and do here, including a full entertainment programme and a brilliant new pool.
De Papillon is perhaps one of the best and most enjoyable campsites in the Netherlands. All 245 touring pitches are spacious (120-160 sq.m), all have electricity (4/10/16A), and TV; a further 220 have water and drainage. An impressive, new sanitary block has state-of-the-art equipment and uses green technology. There is a new entertainment centre with an outdoor auditorium for children, and the water play area by the adventure playground and covered, heated pool are among the most imaginative and exciting we have seen, making it ideal for families. The restored heathland area offers opportunities for nature lovers; there is also a large fishing lake and a swimming lake with beach area and activities. A member of Leading Campings group.
This site is immersed in a magnificent forest of centenary pine trees, within the Montes Universales. A natural site built with respect for the environment so visitors can truly enjoy the peace and tranquillity the site has to offer. There is a good selection of pitches, some natural unconventional and others that are flat fully serviced suitable for motorhomes.
In a woodland setting of 96 hectares, this friendly, family-run campsite is more reminiscent of a holiday village, with a superb range of activities that make it an ideal venue for families. Look out for the deer! A large site with 1,100 pitches and many mobile homes and seasonal or weekend visitors, there are 550 touring pitches. All have electricity (10/16A Europlug), cable, water and drainage and average 100-150 sq.m. in size. They are on rough grass terrain, mostly with shade, but not separated. Seventy-two pitches have private sanitary facilities, of which 32 also have dishwashing, fridge and gas ring, and two have a sauna and jacuzzi.
De Twee Bruggen is a spacious recreation park set in the Achterhoek countryside. The 350 touring pitches (all with 10/16A electricity) are divided between varying-sized fields. Although tall trees surround the fields, the ground is open and sunny. Beyond the touring area, 71 chalets set in well-tended grounds are for rent.
This is a large site, part of which directly borders the River Elbe, with 500 pitches, of which 200 are for touring (all with electricity, water and drainage). The main part of the site is located behind a dyke and contains reception and the principal sanitary facilities. Pitches bordering and overlooking The Elbe are serviced by excellent, modern mobile sanitary units containing WCs and washbasins. Along the Elbe’s banks there are sandy areas useful for playing and sunbathing in summer with some showers. Next to the site’s main building there is a further area set aside for touring units and this has easy access to the main sanitary facilities, the bar and restaurant and children’s playground.
Situated in the Valle de la Burundi, this pleasant and improved site has superb views of the 1,300 m. high San-Donator Mountains. The approach is via a road lined by giant 300-year-old oak trees, a feature of the site. Reception is in the main building beside the pool with a restaurant above (access also by lift). There are 108 pitches of average size on flat ground (50 for touring units) with 6A electricity to all and water to 25.
This is a mature, friendly and well laid out site for those who prefer to be apart from, but within easy travelling distance of, the beaches (5 km) and town (1 km). It has very easy access and is set on a slight slope with wide avenues on level terraces providing 376 grassy pitches (minimum 72 sq.m). All have shared 6A electricity and water points. There are a variety of mature trees throughout the site providing welcome shade. On-site amenities include an attractive swimming pool complex with a large terrace, an air-conditioned restaurant, an ice cream parlour and a children’s play area.
An attractive entrance gives no hint of what lies beyond – a traditional French seaside site, which can become rather cramped in high season, but is very quiet at other times. The nearest beach is just 200 m. away and the pleasant holiday town of Saint Georges-de-Didonne is 2 km. distant. Ideal Camping extends over eight hectares of level or gently sloping wooded parkland. All of the 483 pitches are for touring and 350 have 6/10A electricity, including some of the tent pitches. A number of mobile homes are available to rent. The nearby beach (on the Gironde estuary) is wide and sandy, perfect for buckets and spades!
Lago Resort is situated in an attractive area that receives many visitors for the Monasterio de Piedra, just 3 km away. distant. It also enjoys pleasant views of the surrounding mountains. This site is suitable for transit stops or visiting the Monasterio or the surrounding unusual Aragon countryside, as it is the only one in the area. It is not recommended for extended stays.
Camping Alfacs is set in a beautiful seafront location in the Mediterranean coastal town of Alcanar just a few hours drive from Barcelona. There is a good quality affordable on site restaurant that prides itself on local seafood and meat dishes. Just 200m away guests have access to the Serramar sports centre where they can use the facilities including an open air swimming pool. This location also has a restaurant offering tapas nights plus other entertainment. The facilities are typically Spanish and well looked after.
This popular site is run in a personal and friendly way. The 200 pitches for touring units (some with hardstandings for larger units) are laid out in small groups, divided by hedges and trees and all with 10A electrical connections. Cars are mostly parked in areas around the perimeter and 100 static caravans, confined to one section of the site, are entirely unobtrusive. Reception, a pleasant, good quality restaurant, bar and a snack bar are grouped around a courtyard-style entrance which is decorated with seasonal flowers. The site has a small outdoor, heated pool (13.5x7 m) with a separate paddling pool and imaginative children’s play equipment. A member of the Holland Tulip Parcs Group.
