Set above the historic town of Lamego in Portugal’s renowned Douro wine region, this friendly, family-run campsite enjoys a notably scenic position combined with a genuine and personal welcome from its owners. The open, compact camping area accommodates around 15 units and is well suited to motorhomes and campervans, with electric hook-ups available on all pitches. Facilities are simple but very well maintained, including a small bar and terrace provide a relaxed social space where guests can enjoy local wines and regional produce.

Its elevated setting provides wide views across the terraced vineyard slopes and the town below. A short uphill walk leads to the impressive Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, one of the Douro’s most striking landmarks, while a downhill stroll of around 15 minutes brings you into the quiet, historic centre of Lamego itself. The town is compact and walkable, though its steep streets may challenge those less keen on hills.

Directions to Camping Lamego Douro Valley

From the north, follow the A24 and take exit 9 to the N226. Follow the N226  for 4.4km and then continue to the N2. At the roundabout take the exit for the N2. Follow the road for 700m and take the left turning signposted to Camping Lamego.  The campsite is 300m on the left.  Note this is a narrow road with a tight bend before the entrance.
