La Chênaie is a pleasant, family run campsite in countryside close to the fishing port of Pornic and less than three kilometres from the nearest beach. There are 160 touring pitches in three areas on gently sloping ground with the pool and other leisure facilities in the dip between. All the pitches are well tended with 10A europlug electricity available (long leads may be needed in places) and there is some shade in places from maturing trees and bushes. There are mobile homes scattered among the touring pitches and others at the top of the site with some to rent. A wellness centre has joined the amenities that also include outdoor pools and a covered, heated pool.

This large, friendly site is divided into different areas which gives it a very comfortable feel. Everything is of a high quality and well maintained. Even in high season the site seems quiet and peaceful, except perhaps if you are near the bar area on the weekly disco evening or when an occasional daytime train passes on the line which runs behind the site.

Facilities

Three good sanitary blocks, one central to each area with accessible facilities,. Some washbasins in cubicles. Baby room. Large washing machines and dryer. Motorhome services. Shop selling bread and a few basics. Bar, restaurant and snack bar with takeaway (all season). Two heated indoor swimming pool and paddling pools (all season). Outdoor pools. Aquatic play area for children. Wellness centre. Bicycle hire. Play area. Some activities for children and adults. Shuttle bus to beach and Pornic centre daily (July-Aug). WiFi throughout (charged).

Location

Pornic is 19 km. south of the St Nazaire bridge. Road to site is at junction of D751 (Nantes-Pornic) with D213 (St Nazaire-Noirmoutier) Route Bleue. From north take exit for D751 Nantes. At roundabout on D751 north of D213 take exit for la Chênaie and follow signs to site. Avoid Pornic town centre.
