Alan Rogers Review of Camping La Capricieuse
La Capricieuse is an excellent municipal campsite located on the edge of the charming little seaside town of Luc-sur-Mer. It is an ideal location for visiting the D-Day beaches and the Caen Memorial. The site has 171 cottages available for rent. There are also 10 touring pitches with access to electricity and water, each with its own private toilet facilities. The site has its own restaurant, open every day, and a bakery service every morning. Small shops are within walking distance in Luc-sur-Mer.
The pitches are well laid out and divided into specific areas relating to the electrical supply and services. A security barrier to and from the site is controlled by a coded keypad operational between 8am and 10pm. The reception area is welcoming and has a good supply of brochures for local activities and places of interest. Beaches are a short walk from the site, either from the main entrance or from a footpath via a small gate to the rear. There are numerous sites of historical interest, including Sword beach and Juno beach. Arromanches, with its cliff top circular cinema and associated museums is approximately 30 km. away.

Each pitch has its own modern, heated sanitary facilities, equipped with washbasins in the cubicles and showers,, a mini fridge and an outdoor sink. Fully equipped accessible facilities. Laundry facilities. Motorhome service point. Games room. Baby zone for children under 5 years old (under parental supervision). Adventure playground (fenced). Water park. Petanque.
