This secluded family park on a former working farm, is only six miles from Ripon and about four from the World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey. It is a very rural park with a spacious feel and various pitching areas are tucked away in woodland areas or around the edges of hedged fields with the centre left clear for children. There are hard roads and all of the pitches (60 for touring, 30 seasonal) have 10A electricity. There are 56 acres in total, 17.5 devoted to the site and 20 acres of woodland for walking. The 2.5 acre fishing lake is a big attraction and provides a pleasant area for picnics or walks.

Woodhouse Farm has a quiet, secluded location from which many excursions can be made – the Yorkshire Dales of Nidderdale, Wharfedale, Wensleydale and Swaledale are all within easy reach. As in most parts of the Dales, the peace is occasionally disturbed by passing jets, but happily not very often.

The clean toilet block near the touring pitches has been upgraded and includes heating, roomy showers and some washbasins in cabins. Two bathrooms. Accessible sanitary facilities. Extra facilities are in the farm buildings along with a well equipped laundry, reception and shop. Gas supplies. Bar and restaurant (daily in the season except Mondays). Takeaway on request. New games room with TV. Excellent outdoor play equipment including climbing frames. Fishing (day tickets from reception). Mountain bike hire. Caravan storage. WiFi (free).

From Ripon take Fountains Abbey-Pateley Bridge road (B6265). After 3.5 miles turn right to Grantley and then follow campsite signs for further 1-2 miles. Do not use postcode for GPS directions.
