Wood Nook is a family run park in the heart of Wharfedale, part of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The site includes six acres of woodland with quite rare flora and fauna. Reception is in the farmhouse, as is the small shop. The gently sloping fields have gravel roads and provide 39 touring pitches (30 with gravel hardstanding). All have 10 amp electricity and nearby water and chemical disposal points. There is also room for 31 tents and there are some caravan holiday homes to let. The access road is narrow for a short distance, so care should be taken.
The Thompson family are very friendly, always willing to have a chat, although Wood Nook is still a working farm producing beef cattle. The park itself adjoins the fells, with direct access from the top of the site. Nearby is the village of Grassington, with its cobbled main street and quaint gift shops. This is a delightful and peaceful base from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales.
