Polzeath has one of the most spectacular surfing beaches in Cornwall and is just round the corner from the popular resorts of Rock and Padstow. The campsite is situated on the cliff just above the bay on sloping grass and a footpath leads to the beach. This is a popular and compact site for families so booking is essential in high season. A few units up to 26 feet can be accommodated but most of the pitches take 20 foot units. In total there are 107 marked pitches with a smaller area for two-man tents. Two toilet blocks serve the site and 16A electricity is available over most of the site. The coastal path runs along the front of the site.

A smart licensed restaurant fronts the reception and toilet block, with a garden overlooking the beach and village. Pubs, various cafés, surf and tourist shops, including a Spar shop, fill the little village, which is teeming with surfers over the summer season. The beach has lifeguards on duty from Easter to September, and crazy golf, a putting green and tennis courts are found behind the beach. Port Issac of TV’s Doc Martin fame is just along the coast.

Two solid toilet blocks are fully equipped. 50p token required for showers. Washing machines and dryers. Restaurant. Surf hire (by day/hour).

Directions to Tristram Camping Park

Follow directions to Polzeath from Wadebridge. Go downhill into village then keep left up hill. Site entrance is to the right through a gate you must open and close yourself, just before the public parking barriers. The descent into the site is quite steep, so difficult for large units.
