Alan Rogers Review of Trekenning Tourist Park
Trekenning is a very useful park with easy access just off the A39 roundabout at Saint Columb Major. It comprises a large sloping field with neatly cut grass and all the facilities tucked into the top corner. There are 75 pitches, 68 with 10A electricity and semi-terraced. The A39 runs parallel to one side of the site, so there may be road noise. The star of the show is undoubtedly the kidney shaped pool and paddling pool which are in a garden-like setting with gazebos and sun loungers surrounded by lawn and overlooked by a patio bar at the top – lovely for summer evenings.
The bar complex, which includes a conservatory and decked area, serves local real ales and food. Entertainment is provided most nights in the main season
Facilities at Trekenning Tourist Park
Two toilet blocks, one with showers and washbasins, the other with two en-suite bathrooms (50 p) and six large family showers, well refurbished. Laundry room. Free freezer service. Shop for basics (July/Aug). Bar (all season) with food on demand. Takeaway including breakfasts (B.Hs and July/Aug). Play area. Outdoor pool with poolside bar (Whitsun-end Aug). Games room. WiFi (on payment). No electric barbecues.

Take A3059 turning to Newquay from St Columb Major then turn immediately left; park is signed (this was the old road).
