Situated roughly equidistant between a sandy Atlantic beach (accessed by a pleasant walk through the forest opposite the site) and the Gironde estuary, this site has 260 pitches. There are 112 for touring units with 10A electricity, 70 with water and drainage. Heavier units will need to use those pitches with plastic runners to ensure easy access on and off the sandy ground. The pitches are generally large and most are in full sun but some smaller ones towards the rear of the site offer much more shade. Out of season this is a quiet campsite, but in July and August it becomes busy with families enjoying the excellent facilities.

These include indoor and outdoor swimming pools and entertainment and activities are organised. A little used railway line passes by the front of the site, as well as the main road to Le Verdon. The site is well located for excursions to the Medoc châteaux or marshland.

Good clean sanitary block with accessible facilities. Shop (July/Aug). Bar, restaurant and takeaway. Outdoor swimming pool (heated) with water jets, jacuzzi and paddling pool. Indoor pool. Massage. Minigolf. Multisports area. Bicycle hire. Communal barbecues. Organised entertainment and children’s club (4-11 yrs) all season. Small farm and children’s garden. Activities for teenagers in July/Aug. Internet access and WiFi. Max. 1 dog.

Directions to Sunêlia la Pointe du Medoc

Site is on the N215 (D1215) just south of Le Verdon. Approaching Le Verdon it is important to follow the signs for Royan and Point de Medoc. Site is on the right. It is possible to take the ferry from Royan, but this can be expensive with long queues in high season.
