Alan Rogers Review of Stretton Lakes Touring Park
Stretton Lakes Touring Park is an adult-only, all-year site set within 120 acres of farmland in the heart of Rutland Countryside and has 26 lakeside hard-standing superior pitches. All are south-facing, with spectacular views across the seven fishing lakes and the Rutland countryside. All site guests have free fishing, and you can even fish straight in front of your caravan, motorhome, or campervan. Each superior pitch has its own 16amp electric hook-up, water supply and wastewater drain. There are also 7 log cabins and a cottage available to hire, which are not for adults only.
The site is surrounded by woodland and footpaths offering many different routes, excellent for dog walks. Stretton Wood is 100 acres and is located north of the campsite, and George Henry Wood, which is 80 acres, is located between the campsite and Stretton Village. The woodland around the area is teeming with fallow deer, which can often be seen grazing around the site too. Two excellent award-winning pubs are within walking distance: The Jackson Stops in Stretton Village and the Olive Branch in Clipsham Village. Both are a must-book while staying here.
Nearby you could visit Barnsdale Garden. Rutland Water. Stroll around Stamford. Great Hall at Oakham castle. Gates garden centre at Cold Overton and Greetham valley golf club.
