Alan Rogers Review
Somers Wood is a quiet, peaceful park, attractively situated amongst mixed conifers and deciduous trees. A very pleasant park which only accepts adults and does not take tents, it is especially convenient for those visiting shows at the NEC in Birmingham when it can get very busy.
From the reception building at the entrance, an oval gravel road provides access to 48 pitches, all on hardstandings and with 10A electricity hook-ups. Areas of woodland, carpeted with flowers in summer, surround the site and partition it into small intimate areas that create a rural feel. Log buildings blend comfortably into the surroundings providing reception, the owners’ home, separate sanitary facilities, new laundry and drying room, and tourist information.
There are also wooden tables and chairs. The site is beside an 18-hole golf course and driving range, and no less than eleven fishing lakes, all of which may be used by visitors. A bridle path, which can be used to exercise dogs, winds alongside the site. A member of the Best of British group.
Facilities
The central, heated, modern sanitary block is fully equipped. Shower cubicles are especially large. A separate block for disabled visitors is located away from the main block. New laundry and drying room. WiFi throughout (charged).
Location
From M42 exit 6 (NEC) take A45 towards Coventry. Keep in left lane down to roundabout and exit on A452 (signed Leamington/Meriden), then turn left into Hampton Lane at the next roundabout, then left into Somers Road. Site is signed with golf and fishing centres.
