Alan Rogers Review of Skanderborg Sø Camping
Skanderborg Lake (Sø) Camping is a cosy site where varied ground creates a beautiful setting for a relaxing stay. It is a former orchard where several of the old fruit trees and many other trees and shrubs provide good shelter and shade. The site is divided into sections, with planting creating secluded pitches and nooks. It is built on sandy soil, so the ground is never soft or muddy. The site has 160 touring pitches, most with electric hook-up points. There are also cabins for 2-5 persons available to hire. There are no seasonal units; therefore, all the pitches are available for touring units.
The site is 8 hectares, about 1/3 of which has no designated pitches but well-groomed ground with plenty of space for play and activities. The site has a private beach about 300 m away, which can be accessed along a small path through the forest; there are plenty of activities for the whole family to enjoy, including swimming, fishing, and kayaking.
With only 20 km to Aarhus, Horsens and Odder, 35 km to Silkeborg, as well as Legoland, Djurs Sommerland, Scandinavian Wildlife Park and many other attractions are within an hour's drive, The site is very centrally located in East Jutland.

Four toilet blocks provide showers, washbasins and WCs. Accessible sanitary facilities. Laundry with washing machine and dryer. Baby changing room. Drying room. Dogs are welcome. Free WiFi (partial site.) Children’s play area. Bread to order. Gas sales. Motorhome service point. Restaurant 3 km. Boat and kayak hire, Miniature golf. Table tennis.
Directions to Skanderborg Sø Camping
Located on route 170, approx. 3 km south of Skanderborg. Using Sat.Nav. please make sure that you are led to Horsensvej route 170, as there are two roads called Horsensvej in Skanderborg. From motorway E45 take exit 53 “Skanderborg Syd”. At the roundabout, drive towards “Skanderborg”. Turn right at the 1st road; “Vrold Tvaervej” and go to the end. At the T-junction, turn right on road 170 towards “Horsens”. After approx. 500 m the site will be on your left hand.
