Alan Rogers Review of Siblu Les Viviers

Les Viviers is a large family site on the Lège-Cap-Ferret peninsula. There pitches are dispersed around a 33-hectare wood, 400 of which are occupied by mobile homes and chalets. The site borders the Bassin d’Arcachon and is 5 km. from the nearest Atlantic beach. Pitches are well shaded and of a good size. Most have electrical connections. A large range of amenities are on offer, including a well stocked supermarket, restaurant, pizzeria and a twice weekly street market. A lively activity and entertainment programme is on offer in peak season.

Although there is a great deal to do on site, Les Viviers is well located for trips to Bordeaux and the resorts of the Arcachon basin. Oyster culture is an important activity and there are numerous tasting opportunities around the basin. To the north, the world-class vineyards of the Medoc are within easy reach. Cap Ferret is well known for its lighthouse and can be visited using the famous narrow gauge railway. Boat trips to the Isle of Birds and around the basin are very popular, as is a visit to the animal park with a mini roller coaster ride (up to 12 yrs old). There is also a full zoo and the Pyla sand dune, the highest in Europe, if a change from campsite life is needed. Paragliding is available for the more adventurous. Forest cycle routes are available and surfing lessons can be arranged.

Toilet blocks have free preset showers and accessible facilities. Laundry rooms. Private lake and its private beach. Direct access to the Bassin d'Arcachon by the beach. Supermarket (open all the season). Bar/snack bar, restaurant/pizzeria and takeaway. Pool complex 620m2 with heated and covered pool. Bike hire. Minigolf, ping-pong and tennis court. Gym. Games room. Play area. Entertainment and activity programme. Mobile homes and chalets to rent. WiFi (charged). Gas and charcoal barbecues are not permitted.

Directions to Siblu Les Viviers

The campsite is located at the beginning of the Cap Ferret peninsula. If arriving from the Bordeaux direction,take the D106 towards Lège Cap-Ferret. Once you pass Claouey Village the campsite is well-signposted on your left.
