Alan Rogers Review
Sheriff Hutton Camping & Caravanning Club site offers a peaceful base from which to explore the local area. The local village of Sheriff Hutton has a post office, two charming pubs, castle ruins and a point-to-point racecourse. The historic city of York is just a few miles away and the North York Moors and the coastal towns of Bridlington and Filey are within easy reach. With Roman, Viking and medieval heritage, York has much to see and do, including York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre and the National Railway Museum. You can also take a boat trip on the River Ouse or join a walking tour. The site has 85 grass or hardstanding pitches (some seasonal) most with electric hook-up. The site also has 4 safari tents for hire.
N.B. Non-members are welcome and may join on site. Please speak to site staff for details and to check pitch availability before arrival.
Family days out include Creepy Crawlies an indoor/outdoor adventure play centre with café on the outskirts of York. Flamingo Land at Malton combines animals and theme rides, and Monk Farm near Thirsk. The Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington is based on a World War Two Bomber Command Station and Eden Camp Modern History Theme Museum is housed within an original Prisoner of War Camp.
