Alan Rogers Review of Seaward Caravan Park
Seaward Caravan Park is little sister to the much larger Brighouse Bay Holiday Park, 3.5 miles away. Set in an idyllic location overlooking the bay, this park is suitable for all units. The terrain is slightly undulating, but most of the numbered pitches are flat and of a good size. There are 35 pitches (21 hardstandings) designated for caravans and motorhomes, a further 14 for tents, plus 43 caravan holiday homes (six for hire). All of the pitches for touring units have electricity connections and 12 are also serviced with water and drainage. This is a quiet park with excellent views over the sea, ideally suited for that relaxing holiday or for touring the region.
The charming village of Kirkcudbright is just three miles away. Behind the harbour streets, generations of painters and craftsmen made their home here, leading to the town being referred to as ‘the artists’ town’. Other well known features are the pastel painted houses and wide streets. There is free parking in the town. The unspoilt country lanes are ideal for cycling.
Facilities at Seaward Caravan Park
The principal, fully equipped sanitary block is to the rear of the touring area. Four rooms with en-suite accessible facilities. Well equipped baby room. Laundry facilities. No motorhome service point but the manager can lift a manhole cover to empty waste water tanks. The reception/shop stocks basic provisions, books, gifts, gas, and tourist information. Unsupervised, heated, outdoor swimming pool with sunbathing area (1/5-30/9). Central play area with bark surface, rocking horse, table tennis and picnic tables. Excellent games room. Pitch and putt (charged). WiFi throughout (charged). No mobile signal.
