Recreatiepark Idskenhuizen is beside one of the Friesian lakes and is completely aimed at watersports enthusiasts. One large touring field, separated in the centre by mature trees, takes 30 touring units on level grass. The field is surrounded by mature trees that provide shade, and each unmarked pitch is provided with 10A electricity, water, drainage and cable connections. Toilet facilities at Idskenhuizen are heated and quite acceptable for a watersports site. A café/bar with a terrace has views over the canal that leads to the lake. There is mooring for campers’ boats in the site marina, and next to the site is a sailing and windsurfing school.

Recreatiepark Idskenhuizen is close to the Koevorde lake, which is rather shallow and therefore less busy than other Friesland lakes. This makes it ideal for inexperienced sailors and safe for children. In this southwest area of Friesland you can still experience quiet, rural villages, idyllic country roads and beautiful views over land and water.

Facilities

The heated sanitary block is behind reception. It provides toilets, open style washbasins (cold water only) and preset hot showers (€ 0,50). Laundry facilities. Basics and sailing gear at reception. Café with open-air terrace. Fishing. Bicycle hire. WiFi (free).

From the A6, take exit 19 for St Nicolaasga and continue towards Idskenhuizen. Site is signed in the village.
