Pomeroy Caravan Park is a small, family-run site on a farm in the heart of the Peak District, perfectly situated for exploring the High Peak Trail and surrounding areas. Set away from the Ashbourne to Buxton Road, it is easy to find yet lovely and quiet. A picturesque location in the Peak District, it provides magnificent views of the High Peaks, a very rural part of the county. Easy access to many local walks, including the High Peak Trail, with no need to go on any roads, so it is a safe option for families and cyclists who want to experience the lovely countryside.
The site is a wonderful place for anyone to stay, suitable for young and old, couples and families, and the perfect base for a weekend break or a longer holiday to explore the Peak District area. The site has 49 grass or hardstanding pitches, most with 16 amp electricity.
There is an onsite reception and small shop selling selected local produce, camping essentials and their own delicious artisan ice creams. Their freshly pasteurised whole milk is sold from a 24 hour vending machine - you can purchase reusable glass bottles, as well as basic plastic ones from the carousel vending machine, or even bring your own bottle! Local day trips to historic towns and places of interest are easy to arrange and include well-known, Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton, Castleton, Chatsworth and many other charismatic villages.
A single toilet block has underfloor heating, toilets, showers and washbasins. Family bathroom and disabled wash facilities. Laundry. Dishwashing area. Free WiFi is available throughout the site. Reception/ shop stocking essential items, camping equipment, milk, ice cream, milkshakes, and a small range of other local produce such as meat and baked goods. Fire pit hire available. Ball games field. Dog exercise area – well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome all over the site.
The site is approx. 6 miles south of Buxton on the right of the A515. Go over double cattle grid. From Ashbourne on the A515 the site is on the left just past the Duke of York Public House.Link to campsite location map on google
