Alan Rogers Review of Orbitur Camping Caminha
In northern Portugal, close to the Spanish border, Orbitur Camping Caminha is a pleasant site, just 200 m. from the beach. It has an attractive and peaceful setting in woods alongside the river estuary that marks the border with Spain and on the edge of the little town of Caminha. Of around 300 pitches, just 25 are available for touring with electricity (5/15A Europlug), the remainder are occupied by permanent units and chalets to rent.
The site is shaded by tall pines with other small trees planted to mark large sandy pitches. The main site road is surfaced but elsewhere take care not to get trapped in soft sand. Pitching and parking can be haphazard. Static units are grouped together on one side of the site.
Water points, electrical supply and lighting are good. With a pleasant, open feel about the setting, fishing and swimming are possible in the estuary, and from the rather open, sandy beach.
Facilities at Orbitur Camping Caminha
The clean, well maintained toilet block is modern with British style toilets, open style washbasins and hot showers, plus beach showers. Accessible Facilities. Laundry facilities. Motorhome services. Supermarket, bar with satellite TV (Start Aug-End Sept. Restaurant and takeaway (Start Aug-Mid Sept). Bicycle hire. Entertainment in high season. Charcoal barbecues are permitted.

Directions to Orbitur Camping Caminha
From the north, turn off the main coast road (N13-E50) just after camping sign at end of embankment alongside estuary, 1.5 km. south of ferry. From the south on N13 turn left at Hotel Faz de Minho at start of estuary and follow for 1 km. through woods to site.
