Alan Rogers Review of Nordstrand Camping
An excellently positioned site, Nordstrand is 2 km. from Frederikshaven and the ferries to Sweden and Norway. It provides very good facilities with all the attractions of the nearby beach, town and port. The 440 large pitches, of which 350 are for tourers, mostly with electricity (10/13A), are attractively arranged in small enclosures of 9-13 units surrounded by hedges and trees. Many hedges are of flowering shrubs and this makes for a very pleasant atmosphere. A major attraction for families is the modern fun house with many indoor activities, and if you stay at least four nights, admission to this is free.
The roads are all paved and the site is well lit and fenced with the barrier locked at night. The reception complex also houses a café (high season), with a telephone pizza service available at other times. The beach is a level, paved 400 m. walk. On the roof of the indoor pool a small terrace gives views of the beach and the Ålbæk Bugt. There is much to see in this area of Denmark and this site would make a very comfortable holiday base. Twenty pitches have their own electricity, water and drainage, and there are 16 pitches on hardstandings.
Facilities at Nordstrand Camping
Centrally located, large toilet blocks provide spacious showers (on payment) and washbasins in cubicles, together with some family bathrooms, Accessible facilities. All are spotlessly clean. Laundry. Good kitchens at each block and some covered terraces. Motorhome services. Shop (1/4-15/9). Café and pizza service (all season). Indoor swimming pool (18x8 m). Minigolf. Tennis. Bicycle hire. Play areas. WiFi (charged). Separate fun house (charged).
Directions to Nordstrand Camping
Turn off the main 40 road 2 km. north of Frederikshaven at roundabout just north of railway bridge. Site is signed.
