Arranged on well-maintained grass, on farmland with views towards the Welsh hills, this family-owned and orientated site has a small swimming pool for use in the summer months. There are 67 level touring pitches with 16A electricity, accessed via tarmac roads. Fifty-six have hardstandings, and 47 have water and drainage. The footpaths and bridle paths from the park will appeal to those interested in nature, walking and cycling. Pools on the site allow various activities, from serious fishing to pond dipping. Chester and its zoo are nearby, and the seaside can be reached in an hour.

The park has a David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation, and the nature theme is maintained with information boards across the park highlighting the wildlife that can be seen in the varied habitats.

The rural setting means that some pitches use a central car park. Blue badge holders can speak with reception to choose pitches with pitch-side parking. There are fenced fishing pools and guests are invited to bring a net for pond dipping. One pool is available to adults only for more serious fishing, and there are additional fisheries in the area. A third pool is for the use of the static homes only. Further afield Chester offers shopping, Roman history and a zoo. Both Chester and Bangor on Dee have race meetings and Cheshire Oaks is close enough for serious shoppers. Blue Planet aquarium is nearby. This part of the country has its share of National Trust properties including Erddig and Chirk Castle.

From A41 Whitchurch to Chester Road, take the A534 towards Wrexham, pass Carden Park Hotel and turn opposite Cock o’Barton. After a short distance through Barton the road narrows, bear left and continue for 500 yds. to find the site on the left. Do not rely on sat nav.
