Lough Ennell Camping Park is a tranquil campsite nestled amidst 18 acres of mature woodland on the shores of Lough Ennell, a scenic lake in County Westmeath, Ireland. The park is a haven for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, offering a variety of activities and amenities to suit all ages and preferences. This park is run by a family who live on the site. They receive a blend of visitors – seasonal residents in camping holiday homes (private and to rent), caravanners and motorhome owners, and there are ample areas for tents. Pitches are varied and sheltered with trees and natural shrubbery.

There are 49 touring pitches with electricity (7A Europlug), 25 of which are hardstanding with water points conveniently located throughout the site. On-site facilities include a fully equipped campers' kitchen for guests to use, providing cooking hobs, ovens, microwaves, and sinks to prepare meals. A games room is available for guests of all ages, with various games and TV. A well-equipped playground is on-site, providing swings, slides and climbing frames.

Just an hour from Dublin, it provides a good holiday base or a useful stopover en route to the West of Ireland. The watersports permitted on the lake include canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, boating, water-skiing, fishing and safe swimming. The woodlands offer ample opportunities for walking and cycling. The site has several other lakes within a 10 to 15 minute drive. Some are coarse fishing only, while others are stocked lakes with multiple varieties of fish.

Other activities might include tennis, riding, golf, dog racing and, of course, forest walks. There is a small shop on site offering ready meals, snacks, drinks, and. other essentials. For those who don't fancy cooking, the site has a restaurant serving meals, snacks and hot and cold beverages. Belvedere House and Tullynally Castle are nearby and the large town of Mullingar, known as the capital of the lake lands, is just 6 km.

The toilet block provides toilets, washbasins and hot showers (€ 1 coin). Additional dishwashing areas are around the park. Laundry. Small shop (all season). Café and coffee shop with takeaway. TV and games room. Play areas and an area for ball games. Small lakeside beach. Fishing. Late arrivals area outside. Security, including CCTV. Some breeds of dog are not accepted.

Directions to Lough Ennell Camping Park

From N4 take the N52. Follow signs for Belvedere House and take turn 300 m. south of Belvedere House (signed for site). Continue to the shores of Lough Ennell and turn left. If in difficulty, telephone the site.
