Alan Rogers Review of Le Village de la Combe
Le Village de la Combe is a chalet park, located close to Domme, at the heart of the Périgord Noir. Please note that there are no touring pitches at this site. The village provides 12 fully equipped, air-conditioned wooden chalets, attractively dispersed around a two hectare park. Leisure facilities here include a swimming pool, trampoline and children’s play area. Several long distance footpaths pass close to the site. A ‘pot d’accueil’ is organised every Sunday in high season and is a pleasant way of making new friends. Additionally, communal barbecues are organised in July and August.
The fine medieval bastide of Domme is just 800 m. away, and can be reached on foot. The site’s friendly owners, Chantal and Philippe, regularly organise visits of Domme, focussing on lesser known aspects of this delightful cliff-top village. Further afield, the troglodyte village of La Roque-Gageac, the fortified castles at Beynac and Castlenaud and the beautiful market town of Sarlat are all worthy of a visit.
