Lanyon’s location is a pleasant surprise set amidst the former and now attractive industrial landscape found in parts of the tip of Cornwall. Tucked away down a lane, the holiday caravans are attractively situated with hedged touring fields beyond. A neat tarmac road curves around to reception, the pub and an indoor swimming pool. There are 25 large hedged touring pitches around the edge of two level fields and room for around 40 tents during high season in a separate field. There is a large play area for children. This is a pleasant, relaxed destination for a family holiday with something for everyone and splendid views across the surrounding countryside to the sea.
Lanyon is well positioned for travel to the north and south coasts. Stithians Lake is nearby for sailing, fishing and birdwatching. The Great Flat Lode Trail, also nearby, is ideal for walking, cycling and riding. The nearest beach is at Porthreath, although the park itself offers a small heated pool and meals are available in the pub. The holiday homes include 26 that are privately owned and 18 available to rent.
Facilities at Lanyon Holiday Park
One traditional toilet block is attached to reception with heating. Two others are of prefabricated type but well maintained. Baby changing. Showers may be in short supply at peak times. Laundry room. Bar serving meals (22/5-5/9). Heated indoor pool (10x4 m. April-Oct). TV room. Games room. Play area and trampoline. Caravan storage. WiFi (free).
Directions to Lanyon Holiday Park
Site is 10 miles southwest of Truro. Leave A30 at Cambourne/Pool A3047 exit. Keep to left-hand line and go straight on at next 2 sets of traffic lights, passing Tesco Extra on left. Take next right over railway bridge (signed Four Lanes). Follow road up hill for 1.5 miles, at T-junction turn right. Take 2nd right at Pencoy village hall. Lanyon Park is on left in 400 yds.
